Squirrels Leap Nursery School has carefully created a learning environment that stimulates learning and independence.
Our Montessori-based approach is built on two core needs:
1. Freedom within limits.
2. A prepared environment rich in materials and experiences.
This system is designed to take full advantage of the child's desire to learn and their unique ability to develop their own capabilities. Our learning environment will help the child to develop physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally. Children choose their activities from open shelves with self-correcting materials and work in distinct work areas – on tables or on rugs on the floor.
Develops organisation and order through care of self and environment, grace and courtesy, and refined movement.
Helps children order, classify and describe the world - exploring length, width, temperature, mass, colour and more.
Hands-on materials make abstract concepts concrete - numbers, symbols, sequence and operations.
From sandpaper letters to storytelling, children link sounds and symbols to build confidence in reading, writing and self-expression.
Open to all Squirrels - ideal for busy families and siblings who finish later. Includes lunch, nap, craft, free play, dancing, singing and movement, led by 2 of our lovely teachers.
Weekly lessons on the same property, for children 3yrs+ (safety). Runs Feb to Nov, building water confidence in small groups.
Optional weekly sport and movement programme - life skills through sport skills. Payable termly directly to Playball.
Medical and permanent disability insurance for every child while at school - included at no extra charge. Policy available on request.
At Squirrels Leap, we nurture a love of learning while helping every child develop the confidence, independence and skills to flourish from age 2 to 5 years of age.
